Presentation of INTEROP events
Events MD-INTEREST 2005, workshop on Model-Driven Interoperability of Enterprise Systems.   Geneva, Switzerland, 2005-02-21 08:00:00 - 2005-02-21 18:00:00
The workshop will be held as part of INTEROP'05. System Interoperability is a growing interest area, because of the continuously growing need of integration of new, legacy and evolving systems, in particular in the context of networked businesses and eGovernment. Modelling approaches, including ontologies, object-oriented modeling, enterprise modeling architectural modeling, provide useful tools for this problem. However, they only provide notations to express common or different concepts of the enterprises considered. A complete approach must also include methods and tools supporting these methods. This workshop explores the tenet that a model-driven approach, based on model transformations, can be fruitfully developed to help solve this problem. This workshop solicits input from researchers, technology providers and users with experience in solutions and problems related to technical and semantic interoperability of enterprise systems. Basic technologies that are in the focus of the workshop are: object and component technologies, ontologies, software architecture, model driven development, autonomous computing, agent-based computing, web services, business process modeling, enterprise modeling, provided they are applied to organization integration. A special point of interest is the dynamic, on-the-fly integration of new enterprises in a network of enterprises. The goal is to share experience, consolidate successful techniques, and identify the most promising solutions and try to integrate them in a comprehensive solution. This will lead to the identification of critical open problems.
Events 1st Tuesday : Welcome in the Matrix : stakes and challenges of Interoperability in Information systems.   Geneva, Switzerland, 2005-02-22 17:00:00 - 2005-02-22 20:00:00
The interoperability domain stems from the profusion of essential systems supporting human and collective activities within enterprises, public administrations, international organizations, NGOs, associations and the like. New perspectives such as the OMG (Object Management Group) MDA (Model Driven Architecture) are appearing at basic layers of information and data processing. Such technical approaches are by far insufficient to address the key interoperability challenges of our Information and Communication Systems that support all of our Economy. It is thus necessary to take up other challenges such as security and services interoperability. Interoperability is not a problem, to which we can find a solution. It is much more important. We must take into account our own culture, our own way of life, our own activities and build, step by step, the concrete environment of our future activities by means of information systems. Our position in the international Economy will be based on our practices, our activities and the mix of all these dimensions. It is not about a virtual world becoming reality through images for a show but rather about a virtual world becoming the tangible environment of our activities. Who will build this "matrix"? Who will implement it? It is a crucial stake for future generations. This First Tuesday also takes place within the framework of the European Network of Excellence INTEROP. It also announces the first International Conference in the field of Enterprise Information System Interoperability, to be held in Geneva, February 21-25, 2005 (INTEROP-ESA).
Events EI2N2005, International Workshop on Enterprise Integration   Geneva, Switzerland, 2005-02-22 00:00:00 - 2005-02-22 00:00:00
The IFAC TC 5.3 “Enterprise Integration and Networking” is organising an Experts Workshop in conjunction with the INTEROP-ESA’2005 international conference. The EI2N Workshop aims to identify issues on Applications Interoperability for Enterprise Integration that will be developed in future research works.
Events INTEROP-ESA2005   Geneva, Switzerland, 2005-02-23 08:00:00 - 2005-02-25 20:00:00
The INTEROP-ESA conference aims at bringing together researches, users and practitioners dealing with different issues of Interoperability of Enterprise Applications and Software. The conference will focus on interoperability related research areas ranging like Enterprise Modelling to define interoperability requirements, Architecture and Platforms to provide implementation frameworks and Ontologies to define interoperability semantics in the enterprise.
Events Open workshop “Semantic Model Integration”, in the 3rd Conference of Professional Knowledge Management (WM2005)   Kaiserslautern, Germany, 2005-04-10 08:00:00 - 2005-04-13 20:00:00
The objective of this workshop is to spread knowledge on semantic model integration issues of INTEROP, to get an overview of current research approaches, to initiate a broad discussion in certain areas of semantic model integration, which is closely linked to INTEROP, to present current INTEROP contributions and to initiate collaborations and scientific contacts.
Events 10th EURAS Workshop on ‘Standardisation in an Enlarged Europe’   Tallinn, Estonia, 2005-06-02 08:00:00 - 2005-06-03 18:00:00
The European Academy for Standardization (EURAS) solicits papers on all aspects of standards and standardisation, and in particular on those related to standardisation in an enlarged Europe.

BPM 2005 is the third in a conference series that provides a forum for researchers and practitioners in all aspects of business process management. BPM 2005 will be held in Nancy, France and is organized by LORIA laboratory and University Henri Poincaré. Papers presenting original contributions on business process management (theory, techniques, methods, software architectures) are sought.
Events EDOC 2005   Enschede, The Netherlands, 2005-09-19 08:00:00 - 2005-09-23 20:00:00
The EDOC Conference is the primary annual event focusing on the confluence of the paradigms, technologies and methods involved in enterprise computing. EDOC 2005 is the next event in the successful series of conferences, which since 1997 has brought together leading researchers, architects and practitioners from both academia and industry to discuss enterprise computing challenges and solutions. Today the creation, operation and evolution of enterprise computing systems span concerns that range from high-level requirements and policy modelling through to the deployment of specific implementation technologies and paradigms, and involve a wide (and ever growing) range of methods, tools and technologies. They also cover a broad spectrum of vertical domains and industry segments, from electronic and mobile commerce through to real-time control systems. The EDOC Conference emphasises the integration of enterprise computing research and development results, fostering an enterprise engineering approach that can address and relate business, application and middleware levels. The themes of openness and distributed computing, comprising service-, component- and object-oriented approaches, provide a useful and unifying conceptual thread for this purpose.
