ATHENA and INTEROP are the two major European initiatives in the area of interoperability for organisations. This session will have leading representatives from Industry, ATHENA, INTEROP and EC presenting their views on this field, as a basis for subsequent exchange of ideas between participants in place, and future networking activities and cooperation in the area. The manifold ways of getting involved in ATHENA and INTEROP will be presented and discussed with the audience, showing potential opportunities for international cooperation, participation in these projects as a new member, and how to get involved through the Enterprise Interoperability Centre (EIC). A representative of the European Comission will present the expectations and views of the EC.
